Teen Summer Reading Program

All kinds of things are happening at the library this summer! Check out the special events we have planned, and our TeensRead Book Groups for Middle School Students and Friends!

Do You Want to Be a Summer Reading Volunteer?Do You Want to Be a Summer Reading Volunteer?
If you have completed fifth grade, you can volunteer to help us promote our Summer Reading Program! Sign up starting April 15th at the Lincoln City Libraries location of your choice. You will choose the hours that you would like to volunteer at that time. (If volunteering at Gere Branch, the completed registration form and signed volunteer contract must be returned before you can sign up for a time slot.)

After School Free Art ClubBEAST

Best Ever After School Teen Art Club – meets each Wednesday Afternoon from 3:30-5:30.

Hosted by Gere’s Teen Advisory Board, Mentored by Volunteer Artist Extrordinaire, Chris D.

Come discover your passion – Painting? Drawing? Anime? Writing? Music? Pottery? Don’t know yet, or just want to explore the options? Come on ahead. We have guest artists visit to share their projects, and Chris to organize your next masterpiece. Supplies are provided, along with a bit of sugary, caffeinated sustenance. Here are some examples of the Club's work!

Video Games @ your library

How long do I get to keep them?


You may check-out the games for a total of 1 week. Currently there are no renewals for video games.

How many can I check out?

You can check-out three games at a time.

Where can I see a list of all the games?

You can search our catalog for all the titles and their availability.

What if I don't return them on time?

The same late charges apply to video games as most of the items in the library.

Do you have any accessories for check-out like Wii balance board or Wii Wheel?

At this time we do not have any accessories for check-out.

Where can I recommend a title or make a comment?

You may suggest-a-title or make a comment by clicking on the links.

Why don't you have any games like Call of Duty or Grand Theft Auto?

Our collection consists of video game titles with a rating of Teen or younger. These ratings were developed by the Entertainment Software Rating Board or ESRB.

What other video game systems do you support?

At this time we have Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 games available.

Where can I find other video game related material?

You can find all sorts of great video game related material at the library. We have gaming magazines, strategy guides, books with gaming plots, book lists, and events at many of our library locations.
